Thanks to those who came to visit us at the 25am Roadshow
11.06.2010
Yesterday Illusion Media was in attendance at the 25am Roadshow; a business exhibition featuring stands from members of the 25am Business group, situated in the scenic grounds of Norwich Cathedral. It was a great day and we were pleased to see many faces, new and old, passing by the stand for a chat. On display we had both a PC and Mac in order to demonstrate our excellent Imagine CMS (content management system). Alongside this we ‘displayed’ a large bowl of complimentary sweets – the majority of which found their way in to the pockets of local school children passing through the marquee.
The day included the culmination of a 25 hour table tennis marathon, with our very own Brian Bush battling it out to the bitter end against Mark Overton of Arena Partnership. Players of note throughout the 25 hours included The Very Reverend Graham Smith Dean of Norwich, Herbie Hyde, Bryan Gunn and Jon Thaxton. One of the highlights of the previous afternoon on the tables was a bitterly competitive match between news crews from BBC and ITV. It is not often that you would expect to see BBC newsreader Stewart White smashing ping pong balls into a 5ft cat but with the aid of the Nelsons Journey charity mascot we were not disappointed. This was just one of several 25am charity events held over the week in order to raise money for a selection of charities, including Nelsons Journey, Norwich Cathedral, The Mancroft Advice Project, The East Anglian Childrens Hospice, and the NSPCC. Money received throughout the day for tea and coffee went towards the charity fund, and buckets were placed around the marquee to collect further donations. The events continue tonight with the 25am Summer Ball, featuring an auction for a wonderful array of goodies, with all proceeds again going to the charities mentioned above. Thanks to everybody who came to our stall to chat, and to those who kindly donated to the charity fund.
